Phi Alpha Theta Provides Volunteers for "Racing So They Can Ride" Races

Sep 16, 2017 - Union’s Delta-Psi chapter of Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society provided several volunteers for the annual “Racing So They Can Ride” 5k and 10k races that started and ended at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Jackson. Chapter participants included Dr. Henry Allen, Jessica Barton, Robert Briley, Drs. Alice-Catherine and Stephen Carls, and Cheyanne Harber.

The “Racing So They Can Ride” event raised money for the hippotherapy and therapeutic riding program at the Rein-Bow Riding Academy in Huron, Tennessee. Hippotherapy is one of many programs that the Therapy and Learning Center in Jackson sponsors as a service of the Ayers Children’s Medical Center.

After the races, Phi Alpha Theta volunteers enjoyed breakfast at a nearby Panera Bread restaurant.
