Nov 1, 2017 - Dr. Stephen Carls was among the faculty members recognized for recent or impending scholarly achievements at an Honors Community-sponsored reception in the Jones Suite on November 1, 2017. Dr. Greg Ryan of the political science department and Dr. Matthew Henderson of the sociology department were also honorees. Carls coauthored a book with his wife titled Europe from War to War, 1914-1945 that Routledge will release on November 8. In August, Routledge published a book that Ryan wrote called US Foreign Policy towards China, Cuba and Iran: The Politics of Recognition, and Henderson not long ago received his Ph.D. at Baylor University. In addition, the reception celebrated the birth of a son – Daniel – to Dr. Phil Davignon, chair of the sociology department.
