Two History Majors Are Recognized at Awards Convocation

May 4, 2018 - Two history majors were recognized at Union University’s Annual Awards Convocation on May 4, 2018. Dr. Stephen Carls presented Luke Sower with the first-place award in the 2018 Dr. James Alex Baggett History Research Paper Competition for his paper “From Tenochtitlan to Mexico City: Cortés’ Dream to Regain the Glory of the Aztec Capital.” Provost John Netland announced Seth Reid as the winner of the Academic Excellence Medal in History, although Reid was unable to attend the event. Carls gave Reid his medal later in a special ceremony in Carls’s office.
