History Students Present Papers at Union University Scholarship Symposium

Apr 23, 2019 - History majors Lauren Butler and Luke Sower presented papers at the Sixteenth Annual Union University Scholarship Symposium on April 23, 2019. Butler’s paper, written for Dr. David Thomas, was titled “History of 20th Century American Dance,” while Sower, whose paper advisor was Dr. Stephen Carls, spoke about “Christian Shamanism: Ivan Veniaminov and the Adoption of Orthodoxy as the Indigenous Faith of Russian Alaska.” Both students are members of Union’s Delta-Psi chapter of Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society.
