Feb 25, 2020 - The Delta-Psi chapter of Phi Alpha Theta held its spring plenary meeting on February 25, 2020. The gathering began with Vice President Megan Ledbetter initiating Jennifer Briley and Hannah Ratliff into the society. President Luke Sower presented the inductees with their certificates of membership and Faculty Advisor Dr. Stephen Carls read a letter of congratulations from Phi Alpha Theta headquarters.
President Sower presided over the business portion of the meeting, beginning with the election of officers for 2020-2021. Those elected to office included: Savannah Wright (president); Sandra Allen (vice president); and Addison Osborne (secretary). Sower and Ledbetter made a PowerPoint presentation about the Phi Alpha Theta Biennial Convention in San Antonio where they, along with Katie Allison and Leah Atkins, delivered papers in early January. Other items on the agenda included: the Phi Alpha Theta T-shirt Spirit Day (March 9); the Jackson Old Hickory Club Pancake Breakfast (March 14); the Franco-American Bake Sale (April 8); the Tennessee Phi Alpha Theta Regional Conference (April 18); the Union University Scholarship Symposium (April 21); the History Department Awards Banquet (April 30); the Phi Alpha Theta/History Department Cookout (May 9); and graduation (May 16).
Refreshments consisting of homemade chocolate chip cookies, Coca Cola, Sprite, and water were served at the meeting.
