Apr 16, 2021 - The Rutledge Honorary History Club sponsored a history movie night on April 16, 2021. The film that club members watched was Sergeant York starring Gary Cooper. The movie is about the heroics of Tennessean Alvin York who by himself killed at least 25 German soldiers and captured 132 others in a single engagement during the Meuse-Argonne offensive in October 1918.
In addition to watching the movie, club president Davina Norris inducted Sarah Beth McGee into the club, and attendees elected Sandra Allen as the club president for 2021-2022.
Dr. Henry Allen, the club’s faculty sponsor, brought pizzas and soft drinks to the event and club member Sandra Allen provided homemade red velvet cupcakes for dessert.
