Phi Alpha Theta Members Help at "Racing So They Can Ride" Event

Sep 18, 2021 - Five members of Union’s Delta-Psi chapter of Phi Alpha Theta worked as volunteers at the “Racing So They Can Ride” 5k and 10k races in Jackson on September 18, 2021. Dr. Stephen Carls led the Union group that included faculty members Dr. Henry Allen and Robert Briley and students Elizabeth Blevins and Nicholas Terra.

The race event is held each year at Dick’s Sporting Goods to raise funds for the hippotherapy program of the Rein-bow Riding Academy that the Therapy and Learning Center in Jackson oversees. The funds raised at the “Racing So They Can Ride” event are used to help defray the expenses of hippotherapy so that participating families have no costs to pay themselves.

The Delta-Psi chapter has provided volunteers for the “Racing So They Can Ride” event since 2012.
