May 6, 2022 - Anne Adams, a graduating senior with a double major in history and applied linguistics, received two awards from the history department at Union University’s Awards Convocation on May 6, 2022. Dr. Stephen Carls, the history department chair, first presented Adams with the spring semester Academic Excellence Medal in History. He later gave her the first-place prize in the 2022 Dr. James Alex Baggett History Research Paper Competition for her paper on “A ‘Sincere and Informal’ Relationship: Twentieth-Century Popular Monarchy and the Bond between Wilhelmina of the Netherlands and Her People in World War II.” Dr. John Netland, Union’s provost, presided over the convocation.
