International Relations

International RelationsIn an increasingly competitive global world, we need citizens and leaders who "understand the times and know what to do" (I Chronicles 12:32). The International Relations major provides knowledge of the culture, economics, and politics of different regions of the world, the international system, and how nations, international organizations (governmental and non-governmental), multi-national corporations, and more interact. With this knowledge, students can assess appropriate situations and make good decisions that improve one's business, nation, or community.

Most of our majors have some foreign language capacity and several have studied abroad in Prague, Quebec, Geneva, Salzburg, and China. Moreover, Union students have interned with the British House of Commons, European Union organization, United Nations organizations, and more. Finally, several students have won several Rotary International Scholarships to pursue a Masters' Degree abroad. These experiences have prepared our students to work in embassies, international organizations, international missions, and international humanitarian work.
