Posted May 6, 2024
The department graduated four majors and several minors at graduation on Saturday. We have enjoyed having these students over the past few years and pray that God blesses them in their new endeavors.
Erilynn Denninger of Murfreesboro, TN will attend the University of Alabama Law School on a full scholarship beginning in the fall. She was accepted into Belmont, Baylor, Memphis, Texas A&M, and the University of Tennessee and was offered scholarship money to attend each one, including full rides in most. She was awarded the Outstanding Major and Best Senior Thesis Award from the department this year.
Jack McDonnell of Seveirville, TN will get married in a few weeks and then start as a Governor's Management Fellow which is a two-year fellowship that allows recent graduates to work with the state's executive leadership and prepare them for a career in state government. The department awarded him the John Burgess Award winner for meritorious work in political science. He also won the Best Political Theory Paper Award for his thesis on Christian nationalism.
Caelan Davidson of Ooltewah, TN will also get married this summer. Then he and his wife will move to the Greater Atlanta area where they will be school teachers. Caelan won the Best International Relations Paper award this year.
Abby Aspinwall has been active in student government over the past few years rising to serve as Executive Vice President of the Student Government Association. She will work this summer with the Christian camp she has worked for over several summers and then seek a job with a Christian non-profit.
