Art Gallery: Megan Paige Ward Exhibition
Location: PAC, Art Gallery
M. Paige Ward is originally from Frog Jump, TN where her first love for art was expressed through building tree houses. Ward graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art with a minor in Professional Education and TN K-12 Visual Arts Teaching Licensure in the fall of 2010 from Union University in Jackson, TN. She received her Master of Fine Arts degree in Studio Arts / Ceramics from the University of Florida in Gainesville in 2017. Paige recently worked on staff in the Department of Art at Union as the Shop Technician and Ceramics Instructor at Mudslingers Studio – Annex of the Dixie Carter Performing Arts Center and Academic Enrichment Center in Huntingdon, TN. She has participated in internships at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, TN and the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village, CO. She is currently working in Gatlinburg, TN as an Artist in Residence at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts.

Ron Mazellan has been an illustrator for more than thirty years. His work has enriched such books as New York Times Bestsellers, You Can Be A Friend, by Tony and Lauren Dungy and The Longest Season, by Cal Ripken Jr. Other notable titles include The Harmonica, Finding Daddy, A is for Abraham and There Come Soldier. He has also been awarded, The NAACP Image Award Winner, and Christopher Award for You Can Be A Friend. The Gelett Burgess Award and Sydney Taylor Honor Book, for Irena’s Jars Of Secrets. The Sydney Taylor Honor Book and The Skipping Stones Honor Award, A is for Abraham. Ron has also has been selected by jury to appear in Communication Arts Illustration Annual 52, Creative Quarterly, The Journal of Art and Design and The Society of Illustrators 48th Annual of American Illustration.

Artist Lecture & Reception: Haelim Allen
Location: PAC, Art Gallery
Haelim Choi Allen immigrated to the United States in 1976 with her parents and two younger sisters. She grew up in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. and is a three time alumna of the University of Maryland at College Park, where she received her M.F.A. in painting and sculpture. She is an Assistant Professor of Art at Union University in Jackson, TN. She is married to husband Henry, and they have a son, Matthew. Her body of work represents very broad answers to complex questions of identity.
