Day of Remembrance

November 9th, 2005

 

Wednesday, November 9th marks Union University's third annual Day of Remembrance campus wide service day. This is a time when faculty, staff and students join together giving thanks to God for His protection of our campus during the 2002 and 2003 Jackson tornados. We also work together to serve our community who supported our university following the storms.

 

The day begins at 8:30 a.m. in the chapel for a special corporate worship service. The service will conclude at 9:00 a.m. so service teams can re-group in assigned locations for final instructions before leaving to serve. Those with all day projects will be given a boxed lunch.

 

Please remember to sign up for your project in the campus ministries office or call Campus Ministries at x5062 to reserve your space on a specific team. It is important to sign up ahead of time, as most projects have limited space to ensure meaningful work for all participants.

 

Classes will be cancelled in order for students, faculty, and staff to serve together. However, the following labs and classes will meet: PHY 111, PHY 231, PHY 232L, BIO 112L, BIO 211L, BIO 215L, BIO 325, CHE 111, CHE 319, and CHE 324. In addition student teaching, graduate, and evening classes will be held on November 9th.
