In the Fall of 2003, students, faculty, and staff at Union University began a campus wide service day called “Day of Remembrance.” This service day is our way of thanking the community for the help they gave our university during the tornado relief efforts of 2002 and 2003, and to provide encouragement to the tremendous ongoing work of our local schools, churches and non-profit organizations. |
Wednesday, November 8, 2006, marks Union University’s forth annual Day of Remembrance campus wide service day. This is a time when faculty, staff and students join together giving thanks to God for His Protection of our campus during the 2002 and 2003 Jackson tornados.
The day begins at 8:30 am in the chapel for a special corporate worship service. The service will conclude at 9:00 am so service teams can re-group in the assigned locations for final instructions before leaving to serve.
If you are interested in participating in a project, please sign up in Campus Ministries before Tuesday, November 7th. It is important to sign up ahead of time, as most projects have limited space to ensure meaningful work for all participants. Project time slots are open on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please click on the “Projects Link” to find out more information about the projects that are available.
Classes will be cancelled in order for students, faculty, and staff to serve together. However, the following labs and classes will meet: BIO 112L, BIO 211L, BIO 215L, BIO 325, CHE 111L, CHE 319L, PHY 111, PHY 231. In addition, student teaching, graduate and evening classes will be held on November 8th. |
