Nick Saban is head football coach at the University of Alabama, where he has won three BCS National Championships in the past seven years. After the most recent victory over Notre Dame on January 7, 2013, Saban joined Frank Leahy, Bear Bryant and John McKay as the only coaches to win four national titles in the modern era.
A National Coach of the Year five times, Saban was head coach of the Miami Dolphins in 2005 and 2006 before moving to Alabama. He also served as head coach at LSU, where he led the Tigers to a national title in 2003 and two Southeastern Conference championships. Prior to his tenure at LSU, Saban was head coach at Michigan State and the University of Toledo.
Saban is the co-author of Tiger Turnaround, a book documenting his first two years at LSU, and How Good Do You Want to Be? He and his wife Terry have been active in the communities where they have lived. At Michigan State, the Sabans started the Nick's Kids Fund, which they have continued at Alabama. The Sabans also built 14 homes with Project Team Up and Habitat for Humanity following the 2011 tornado that struck Tuscaloosa.
