Faculty Piano Recital: Terry McRoberts
February 15, 2011: 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Terry McRoberts will perform a faculty piano recital on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at Union University. The program will feature Troubled Waters by Margaret Bonds and the Pineapple Rag by Scott Joplin, both works by African American composers. The Waldstein Sonata by Beethoven, a crowd favorite, will be the centerpiece of the recital. Also featured on the program is a performance of Sonatina No. 3 by Hermann Schroeder, which is part of a series in which McRoberts is performing all of the sonatas and sonatinas by Schroeder on campus. In addition to Allegro Giocoso by Leo Kraft, the recital will include the Military Polonaise, Waltz in C-Sharp Minor, and Scherzo in C-Sharp Minor by Frederic Chopin.
The recital will be held in Hartley Hall in Jennings Hall on the Union University campus. There is no admission charge, and the public is invited to attend. For more information call 731 661 5345.
