Lauren Tilden, an American painter, born in New Jersey (1981), has developed a style, which contains remnants of the Philadelphia tradition with roots in Eakins and Wyeth. She received her Master of Fine Arts from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Arts, where whe studied with Sidney Goodman, Vincent Desiderio, and Patrick Connors. Her use of a limited palette, selective detail balanced by a painterly application supports her distinct vision.

She is a three-time recipient of grants from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation. Publications include "A Quiet Light" The Artist's Magazine, March 2011, "Mutter die in Bilde sind" 2010, Elisabeth Sandmann and American Paintng Video Magazine Fall 201 issue. She currently exhibits with Haynes Galleries in Nashville, TN and F.A.N. Gallery in Philadelphia, PA. Lauren Tilden lives and works in the rural countryside of southern New Jersey where the landscape serves as a backdrop for her life-affirming and poetic paintings.
