Lyceum: The Films of Julian Williamson

November 18, 2004: 8:00 p.m.10:00 p.m.

, W.D. Powell Theatre

The films Road Work, Hatchie River, and Tent Revival, representing the last 10 years of regional filmmaker Julian Williamson’s work will screen at the W.D. Powell theatre at Union University at 8:00 p.m. November 18 and 19. Though the films have been screened individually in film festivals across the south, this is the first time they have been seen together, and the first time Road Work has screened publicly in Jackson.

Though frequently categorized as documentary, these films are more a poetic meditiation on the beauty of uncelebrated life in West Tennessee.
