Faculty Piano Recital: Terry McRoberts
February 26, 2008: 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Terry McRoberts will present a faculty piano recital in the West Jackson Baptist Church Choir Room on Tuesday, February 26 at 7:30 p.m. The program will begin with Clair de lune by Claude Debussy. Scenes from Childhood, a series of short vignettes reflecting upon childhood, by Robert Schumann will also be performed. The famous Träumerei is the central piece in the cycle. McRoberts will continue his series of presenting the complete sonatas and sonatinas by Hermann Schroeder by performing Sonatina No. 1. Also included in the program are two Irish Legends by the American composer Henry Cowell which feature the use of tone clusters. The final group will include the famous D-Flat Major Nocturne and B Minor Scherzo by Chopin. There is no admission charge for the program, and the public is cordially invited to attend.
