Mark Galli has spent 24 years as an editor with Christianity Today, Leadership, and Christian History. He has written or co-written six books, from biographies (St. Francis of Assisi and a forthcoming book on theologian Karl Barth), to books on spirituality (Jesus Mean and Wild and A Great and Terrible Love). He has also published dozens of articles in a variety of magazines.
Galli was born and raised in California, received his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of California at Santa Cruz and a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. He also did doctoral work at UC-Davis. He served as a pastor for 10 years – four years in Mexico City and six in Sacramento, before becoming a journalist.
He's been married to Barbara for 39 years, has three grown children, two grandchildren, and lives in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
