Counseling Services: Finding You at the U: Responding to Mental Illness Counseling Services: Finding You at the U: Responding to Mental Illness

April 25, 2017: 8:00 p.m.9:30 p.m.

Bowld Student Commons, Bowld 120

Most of us are affected by mental illness — some because of their own diagnosis, some because a close family member has an illness, and many more because we regularly interact with people who have mental disorders. For most of us, the idea of helping someone with mental illness feels intimidating and confusing, yet we all have a responsibility to lovingly help our neighbors. Amy Simpson shares her own story of living with a close family member’s serious mental illness and provides insights into how “regular people” can help.

Amy Simpson is an author and speaker who wrote the book Troubled Minds: Mental Health and the Church’s Mission. Her mother has schizophrenia.

This event is open to all Union students.
