Christian Environmental Stewardship Chapel: Dave Mahan

Dr. David Mahan is the Director, Great Lakes Program, of Au Sable Institute, a college-level center for field ecology and environmental studies near Mancelona, Michigan. He attended Michigan State University where he received an M.S. and Ph.D. in aquatic biology. Prior to coming to Au Sable, he was a professor at Western Michigan University and a Field Representative for the Nature Conservancy. In addition to program development and teaching college courses in stream ecology and natural history, he is actively involved in the conservation and restoration of land and water resources in northwest Lower Michigan. He has frequently given talks on human responsibility for the caretaking of God’s Earth and on the ecology and protection of running water systems.
