Ben Hoskins is a 2002 and 2007 graduate of Union University, as well as a graduate of Gateway Baptist Theological Seminary in 2022 with a Doctor of Ministry. Appointed by the International Mission Board in 2008, he has served in East Asia planting churches, leading teams, and training gospel workers. He was a founding member of HIM, an Asian Baptist Mission Agency, and currently serves with the International Mission Board as the Cluster Leader for Global Chinese Ministry. Ben and his wife, Tabitha, live in Taiwan with their four kids.

Theological training key to missions success, Bledsoe says at annual Powell Lecture

Feb. 5, 2025 - Jimmy Bledsoe emphasized the critical role of theological education in missions during his keynote address at Union University's fifth annual W.D. Powell Missions Lecture Jan. 30.

"The glory of God and the mission of God has to be our highest priority and our greatest occupation," Bledsoe said. "Even if we are the senders and not necessarily the ones who are sent, we must still have a very high esteem for God's mission. He is a missionary God." READ MORE

W.D. PowellNamed for a Union alum who was an early, prominent Southern Baptist missionary to Mexico and elsewhere, this lecture series provides an opportunity for the Union community to be kept up to date on what is happening in the world of missions and to keep before us the missionary call.
