We took all suggestions that resulted from last years ride and tried to incorporate changes for the 2014 ride.
The courses include 16, 35, 50, and 62 miles (metric century) that roll through the scenic Tennessee countryside . The routes are flat to small rolling hills and are subject to very little traffic. SAG stops with food and beverages are posted approximately every 15 miles on the course. Anyone completing the metric century will receive a commemorative t-shirt celebrating their milestone.
All routes will begin and end at the Miller Tower on the campus of Union University. The 16 and 35 mile routes are relatively flat, while there are some mild to moderate hills along the out and back extensions of the 50 and 62 mile routes. Enjoy the speed of the flats on the 50 and 62 mile routes as it carries you via Roberts Station road to the turnabout near Century Farms Winery. All routes converge in downtown Gadsden so most of the riders will follow similar course patterns where there are lots of opportunities to stay in a pace line. All routes are scenic, well paved, lightly traveled, and rate from easy to moderate in terms of elevation gain.
SAG stations will be positioned throughout the route where you can recharge with electrolyte drinks, fruit, snacks and a place to rest. In the instance that you are too tired to ride on,
just say the word and one of our support teams will pick up you and your bike and deliver you back to the university safely. Assistance with bicycle repairs will also be a phone call away.
Registration is $20.00 for pre-registration and $25.00 the day of the event.
