Spring 2018 — Britain, Belgium and France



Course Credit and Classroom Instruction
- Undergraduate Credit - 3 hours for either HIS 180-102 (Special section of World Civilization from the 18th Century) or HIS 380-322 (Twentieth-Century Europe)
- Regular class sessions throughout the spring semester for the classroom portion of the course
Study Tour
- Participation in a 13-day trip (May 20 - June 1) to London (Britain), Passchendaele (Belgium), Reims, Verdun, Meaux, and Paris (France)
- Visits to World War I memorials, history museums, churches, Napoleon's tomb, the Palace of Versailles, and other cultural landmarks
Itinerary, Costs & Registration
Trip participants are expected to register by October 31, 2017, although consideration will be given to students who inquire thereafter.
While trip costs are discussed in the previous link, it should be noted that the following are items not included in the announced package price:
- A Union University processing fee of $75;
- Travel protection (international travel and health insurance);
- Passport;
- Meals not specified;
- Travel from home to Nashville airport and from Nashville airport to home;
- Items of a personal nature;
- Porterage (we plan to handle our own luggage in hotels and elsewhere);
- Single room supplement;
- Other items/services not mentioned in the package price description.
Participants do NOT have to purchase travel insurance (including emergency evacuation and repatriation of remains) upon registration; they may do that in the spring, but they must show proof of insurance before leaving on the trip.
