IMB/NAMB Missionary Dependent Scholarship
Union University is pleased to extend the following scholarship opportunity to dependents of full-time missionaries, administrators, and ministerial staff of the International Mission Board (IMB) and the North American Mission Board (NAMB). This revised scholarship will take effect for traditional undergraduate students entering the Fall, 2022 semester and following.
Students who meet all admission requirements as outlined in the Academic Catalogue will be granted a $17,750 per year SBC Missionary Dependent Scholarship in place of the Merit Scholarship for which they would otherwise qualify, such as the Trustees' Scholarship or President's Scholarship. This will apply for up to four years, so long as their parent(s) continue to serve in a full-time capacity with the IMB or NAMB and the student remains in good standing with the University.
Confirmation of employment from the IMB or NAMB will be required for the scholarship to be awarded. Please have a letter or other document of employment emailed to your enrollment counselor or to admissions@uu.edu.
Students who receive the above scholarship will still be awarded other applicable University scholarship and grants (except the Ministry Dependent Scholarship). Students who receive the above scholarship will also be eligible to apply for Federal grants, loans, and student work.
Students who qualify for the Scholars of Excellence competition based on their previous academic performance will remain eligible to compete. Any additional scholarship they may be awarded from the competition will be added on top of the above scholarship.
With this scholarship, Union University is deepening its commitment to the International Mission Board and the North American Mission Board. Union is offering its best financial aid opportunity to Southern Baptist missionaries and their families, assisting them in providing Christ-Centered, Excellence-Driven education to these students. Due to the changing nature of enrollments and financial aid matters, these scholarship details may be reviewed in the future and will be subject to change for future incoming students.
