Jackson, Tenn. - The Union University Art Gallery will feature Phoenix artist Tim Timmerman beginning Oct. 1. Timmerman's show will include drawings and paintings and will last until Oct. 29. Gallery hours are Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Admission is free. Timmerman describes his work as "allegorical images of toys and figurines," some of which are assembled out of "discards like a Jello mold, a jingle bell or a cocoa tin." "Chuckling, rambling by, peering at the viewer, or lost in thought, they represent a condition, a personality or paradox, " Timmerman says about his "raggle-taggle" figures. Timmerman is art department chair and gallery director at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. |
