JACKSON, Tenn. — April 17, 2015 — Lindsey Ledford, a senior at Arlington High School in Arlington, Tennessee, has received the new Founder’s Scholarship from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, that covers full tuition, room, meals and student services fees for four years.
Ledford plans to study education at Union beginning this fall. She is the daughter of Kevin Dwayne Ledford and the late Nona Jean Ledford and is a member of Bartlett Baptist Church.
“Lindsey was simply fantastic and represents all that we value in a Scholar of Excellence,” said Dan Griffin, Union’s vice president for enrollment management. “We offer congratulations to Lindsey on her many outstanding accomplishments and recognize her to be a young woman committed to excellence under the Lordship of Christ.
“We welcome Lindsey to Union University and have full confidence that she will impact this community in significant ways in the days ahead.”
The Founders’ Scholarship is Union’s highest academic scholarship. Recipients must maintain a 3.25 cumulative grade point average at Union and are required to perform up to 50 hours of leadership services for the university each semester.
