JACKSON, Tenn. — Sept. 13, 2018 — Lanese Dockery, former first lady of Union University, will be the featured speaker at the Union Auxiliary’s 20th anniversary luncheon Sept. 25. Dockery was instrumental in starting the Union Women’s Auxiliary in 1998.
“We are grateful for Mrs. Dockery's vision for what is now the Union Auxiliary,” said Susie Oliver, president of the Union Auxiliary. “Her vision has helped provide scholarships to students in need so that they could continue their education at Union University. We are excited to hear from her as we celebrate our 20th anniversary.”
Over the past 20 years, the Auxiliary has given more than $200,000 in scholarships to Union students and hosted regular luncheons with speakers from many areas. The Auxiliary has also held banquets the past two years, featuring Olympian David Boudia and author Bob Goff.
The 20th anniversary luncheon will take place at 11:30 a.m. in the Carl Grant Events Center on the Union campus. Tickets can be purchased online at uu.edu/events/auxiliary. Individual tickets are $20, and tables of eight are $150. The registration deadline is Sept. 18.
