JACKSON, Tenn.June 30, 2020 — Kim Jones, assistant dean for student services and professor of pharmacy practice in Union University’s College of Pharmacy, was recently chosen as president-elect for the Tennessee Pharmacists Association.

Jones’ installation came during the TPA’s summer meeting held virtually June 18-21. She will take over as president of the organization next summer.

TPA is a professional organization that advances, protects and promotes high-quality pharmacist-provided patient care in Tennessee, according to its mission statement.

“It’s really quite an honor to be elected to this position, because TPA encompasses various practice backgrounds within the profession of pharmacy,” Jones said. “I’m an academician working in a non-patient care setting, but I’ll be representing anyone from long-term care, independent mom-and-pop-type stores, inpatient hospital or healthcare settings, consulting, compounding, nuclear pharmacy, retail. It’s neat to be the representative voice for so many subsets of the profession.”
