Singleton to deliver Union’s summer commencement address on July 30

JACKSON, Tenn.July 27, 2022 — Ann Singleton, associate provost and dean for instruction at Union University, will be the keynote speaker at Union University’s summer commencement ceremony on July 30 at 10 a.m. at West Jackson Baptist Church.

Union will graduate 96 students during its summer commencement ceremony, marking the close of the 2021-2022 academic year.

Singleton previously served as the associate dean for the Union University College of Education and continues to teach as university professor of special education. Before joining Union in 1985, she served as a teacher and supervisor of special education in Madison County. She has received Union University’s Faculty of the Year award and the Union University Homecoming G.M Savage Legacy award.

Additionally, she has co-written several textbooks to instruct elementary educators on effective mathematics teaching skills, including “Teaching Mathematics to All Children: Designing and Adapting Instruction to Meet the Needs of Diverse Learners.”
