JACKSON, Tenn.July 19, 2024 — A Christmas concert by Christian recording artists and hymn writers Keith and Kristyn Getty will be the featured entertainment at the 26th annual Union University Scholarship Banquet Dec. 3 at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson.

The Gettys, who hail from Northern Ireland, are Grammy-nominated artists and the founding leaders of the Getty Music organization. Their greatest musical passion is writing and championing great hymns of the church. Among the songs they have written and recorded are “In Christ Alone,” “His Mercy is More,” “The Power of the Cross,” “By Faith” and many others.

“Keith and Kristyn Getty have been one of the Lord’s great blessings to the church over the past several years,” Union President Samuel W. “Dub” Oliver said. “Their hymns have blessed millions, stirred our hearts and pointed us to Christ. We are looking forward to an inspirational evening as we celebrate the generosity of so many donors who help make a Union education possible for students.”

The Gettys established Getty Music with a view to the year 2050 in the hope that individuals, families and churches would celebrate the beauty of Christ-centered hymnody. Their group’s songs include 38 of the top 500 titles sung in American and British churches.

The Getty Music team is currently developing the “Sing! Hymnal,” slated to be released in 2025 in partnership with Crossway. The Gettys also host the annual Sing! Conference in Nashville, Tennessee.

The annual Scholarship Banquet is one of the premier events in West Tennessee each year with leading businesses and individuals as sponsors. FirstBank and Elite Contractors are the lead sponsors for the 2024 banquet.

Other sponsorships for the event are available at various levels. For ticket information, including table sponsorships and individual balcony seating, contact Union’s Office of Institutional Advancement at (731) 661-5050 or visit www.uu.edu/events/scholarshipbanquet/2024.
