JACKSON, Tenn. — March 1, 2005 — Award-winning poet Kate Daniels will speak at Union University’s Creative Writing Workshop March 3 and will present a poetry reading that’s open to the public.
Daniels, associate dean of the college of arts and sciences at Vanderbilt University, is the author of three volumes of poetry: “Four Testimonies,” “The Niobe Poems” and “The White Wave.” She has also edited or co-edited two other poetry books.
She has received a Bunting Fellowship, the Agnes Lynch Starrett Award for a first book of poetry, the Pushcart Prize for Poetry, the Crazyhorse Prize for Poetry and the Louisiana Literary Prize for Poetry.
Daniels’ poetry reading will begin at 1 p.m. in Harvey Hall, located in the Student Union Building on the Union University campus. The event is free. For more information, call (731) 661-5107.
