Resiliency Program
The Center for Academic Success, under the leadership of the Director for Academic Success, provides a 4 step approach to help students regain academic standing after being placed on Academic Probation. A Resiliency Counselor will be assigned to each student.
- Step 1: The Academic Resiliency Plan
At the end of each semester, students with a cumulative GPAs below 2.0 will review transcripts to identify specific needs of each student and design a possible prescriptive plan to assist the student to improve academic performance. - Step 2: Personal Contact with the Student
Once an Academic Resiliency plan has been developed, the Resiliency counselor will contact the student through email or a campus meeting with the Resiliency plan. The Academic Resiliency program will begin during the first week of classes for the semester with an individual student meeting to review the academic plan. - Step 3: Accountability and Support
During the semester, accountability meetings with the Resiliency counselor will be regularly scheduled to provide ongoing support. - Step 4: Collaborative Efforts
The Resiliency counselor will serve as the gatekeeper to monitor and oversee collaboration with advisors, coaches and departments within the university to assist the student regain academic recovery.
