Union's History Honor Society Wins 12th Straight Phi Alpha Theta Best Chapter Award

Sep 15, 2014 -

Union’s Delta-Psi chapter of Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society received word from the organization’s national headquarters on September 15, 2014, that it had won another Best Chapter Award for Division II schools (3,001-6,000 students). The 2014 award marks the 12th straight year that Delta-Psi has received this honor. Since the chapter has won the Best Chapter honor more than four times, the award carried with it the special designation of Nels A. Cleven Award. In his letter of congratulations, National Executive Director Graydon A. Tunstall stated that chapter members had shown “admirable dedication to the organization and truly exemplify the mission statement of Phi Alpha Theta.”

The award consists of a certificate of recognition and a prize of $250 to be spent on history books for Union’s Emma Waters Summar Library. With this year’s prize money included, the Delta-Psi chapter will have contributed $3,000 for the purchase of history books at Union.
