Dec 8, 2006 - Department Honors Former Congressman Ed Bryant and Graduating Seniors at French Christmas Dinner
The Department of History and Political Science, along with the Delta-Psi Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, celebrated the academic contributions of former Congressman Ed Bryant and the achievements of graduating political science majors Rachel Winford and Tyler Kent at a French Christmas dinner held at Dr. Stephen Carls's home on December 8, 2006. Twenty-nine people attended the event, which included traditional French food and Christmas carolers from Trinity Christian Academy. Mr. Bryant, who represented Tennessee's Seventh Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives for eight years (January, 1995 - December, 2002), taught political science courses at Union from the fall of 2004 through the fall of 2006. During a brief program, Associate Professor of Political Science Sean Evans highlighted Mr. Bryant's contributions to Union University, and he also paid tribute to Ms. Winford and Mr. Kent for their many accomplishments while students at Union.
