Golf Rules For 4 Man Scramble
Official Rules
U.S.G.A. rules govern all play, with the following exceptions:
- The tournament format is a 4-person scramble. Each team member may place the ball within one (1) club length of the selected shot, no nearer the hole. If the shot selected is played from a hazard, bunker, rough, fairway, or fringe of the green, again the ball must be played from within one (1) club length of the shot selected and must remain in the hazard, bunker rough, fairway, or fringe of the green.
- When putting, once any ball is holed out, no further strokes count. The team is cautioned not to make "tap" in putts until all team members have had the opportunity to attempt the team's original putt. The original putt may be moved a maximum of two (2) inches from the mark, no nearer the hole.
- On every hole, each member of the team may hit a tee shot. Each member's tee shot must be used a minimum of 2 times. All members of the team may then hit from that position. This procedure is repeated until the ball is holed out.
- All players play from the Gold tees, with the exception of players over 70 years old play from the Blue tees.
- An official scorekeeper will be assigned to each team and will proceed through play with the team to record the score of each hole. A player will be asked to initial the official scorekeeper's score for the team before leaving the green. Official scorekeepers will submit their records at the end of play for verification of the score turned in by each team.
- In the event of a tie for first place, there will be an immediate sudden death play off on Holes #1 and #18 to determine the 1st place winner and the 2nd place winner.
- The purpose of the scramble is to raise money to benefit Union University, Jackson, Tennessee.
Our mission is to provide Christ-centered education that promotes excellence and character development in service to Church and society.
