George Yancey2023-24: Can Christianity Teach Us Anything Unique about Racism?

Dr. George Yancey is Professor in the Sociology Department and the Institute for Studies of Religion at Baylor University. Dr. Yancey has published widely on topics of "institutional racial diversity, racial identity, academic bias, progressive Christians and anti-Christian hostility." His most recent book, Beyond Racial Division: A Unifying Alternative to Colorblindness and Antiracism (IVP, 2022), builds on his earlier books, Beyond Racial Gridlock: Embracing Mutual Responsibility (IVP, 2009) and (co-authored with Michael Emerson) Transcending Racial Barriers: Toward a Mutual Obligations Approach (Oxford University Press, 2011). He has also written on bias within higher education, Compromising Scholarship: Religious and Political Bias in Academia (Baylor University Press 2011) and So Many Christians, So Few Lions: Is There Christianophobia in the United States? (Rowman and Littlefield , 2014).
