Additional Endorsements

Special Education Provisional License

Union offers a pathway to licensure for Interventionist K-8 and 6-12 and Special Education Comprehensive K-12 at the Jackson campus.

The three required classes are:

  • SE 605, Education Assessment of Exceptional Children (offered in the fall semester)
  • SE 505, Literacy for Special Populations (offered in the fall semester)
  • SE 606, Math, Science, and Social Studies for Special Populations (offered in the summer)

Teachers must also pass three additional Praxis assessments for this endorsement; however, we recommend taking these assessments after passing the courses.

It is a possibility for teachers to teach special education while taking the coursework. For more information, contact Dr. Teresa Tritt at ttritt@uu.edu.
