Debbie Bellinghausen The Union slogan — Excellence Driven, Christ-Centered, People Focused, Future Directed — could not have proven to be more true. From the atmosphere on campus to the professors in the classroom, I found my experience at Union to be rich in each of those ideals. My professors cared about me as a person, they pointed me to Christ and encouraged me walk in faith toward the future God had for me in the profession of social work

Ana Rosa HendersonThe Union School of Social Work has blessed me with a deep understanding of the true meaning of empathy. They have taught me the importance of accepting people and meeting them where they are. Under their instruction, I am prepared with a treasure trove of knowledge and adeptness. They have ingrained in me that just like a client has skills to gain from a social worker, a social worker has wisdom to gain from their client.

Ana Rosa Henderson (Adult BSW - 2021)

Britton CrenshawThe Union School of Social Work has helped me to gain perspective on a number of issues with an empathic outlook no matter the subject. Most of all, it has shown me the hard work of "the helping profession" and how a continued strive toward excellence is easily coupled with the desire to help my neighbor. It has been an experience that completely changed the direction of my education, my career, and most often, my conversations and passions for God's Kingdom.

Britton Crenshaw (BSW - 2020, MSW - 2021)

Brandon Rutledge Union's social work program helped me understand more deeply the contributing aspects to social issues such as poverty, wealth, racial and educational inequalities, and faith-based practice. This program has given me the perspective necessary to be effective in social work.

Sarah RobbinsMy experience as an undergraduate BSW and as a graduate MSW student has shaped me into an individual who views at-risk populations through a holistic lens. The School of Social Work at Union University exemplifies what it means to care for those who experience injustice, loss, trauma, poverty, mental illness, and much more, all with a Christ-centered, empathetic, and humble approach.
