Endowed Chairs
It takes $2 million to endow a chair at Union. We are already blessed with an incredible faculty — professors who are experts in their fields, who faithfully pray for and serve their students, and who are deeply committed to shaping and molding young minds and hearts.
Thanks to the generosity of donors in the past, Union currently has two endowed chairs: the James and Shirley Porter Endowed Chair in the McAfee School of Business and the O.P. Hammons Chair in chemistry.
The influence of godly professors on Union students is incalculable. Students often stay connected to their favorite professors for years after their graduation from Union, and many times those student-professor relationships become productive professional relationships in the years down the road. Our desire is to increase the number of endowed chairs so we can retain our best professors and recruit more like them.
