February 1, 2008 - Dr. Michele Atkins was invited to speak at the Annual Town and Gown Series at Union University. Her session was entitled The Impact of Education on Social Welfare.

Education impacts the lives of Americans in a miriad of ways at the individual, family, community, state, and national levels. This seminar presentation described the crucial manner in which education, the possession or lack of, impacts the social welfare of the individual and this country. Participants were afforded the opportunity to engage in discussion with the presenter and other panel members upon completion of the presentations. (January, 2008)
