2013 Summer Youth Internship at First Baptist Church, Easton

Description:
Purpose: The intern team, under the supervision of the Senior Pastor and other church staff is responsible for supporting and/or coordinating various ministry endeavors. The summer ministry interns will be encouraged and equipped for future ministry positions. Interns will support the mission of FBC Easton which is to help others to become more like Christ, by loving God, loving others and loving to serve.

Goals: Develop a basis and understanding of relational ministry Learn skills that will enhance future ministry pursuits Increase church participation in various ministry endeavors Provide significant evangelistic follow-up for ministry events Work to connect people to ministries as measured by participation and attendance Grow individually closer in their walk with Christ through personal study

Responsibilities: 1. Work with Student Director and Student Ministry Team in coordinating summer activities 2. Help develop and assist in leading Wednesday night worship 3. Help facilitate small groups on Sunday mornings 4. Assist with VBX and family wrap up night 5. Participate with summer camps and outreach events 6. Promote a deeper relationship with Jesus through modeling and teaching, increasing the spiritual maturity of those who are part of the youth ministry 7. Help with other jobs as needed 8. Meet with Student Director weekly 9. Participate in Nursery/Children’s/Youth staff meetings 10. Participate in evaluation process which includes a pre-internship goal setting session, one mid-summer review and one review at the end of the internship

Personal Development 1. Maintain a disciplined personal devotional life 2. Exhibit a high level of spiritual integrity and moral purity 3. Participate in spiritual development activity supervised by the Pastoral Team 4. Reading as assigned 5. Keep a journal of spiritual and ministry activities

Terms of Employment Hours will be flexible – approximately 40 hours per week May 20 – August 10, 2013
