Union University Students Participate in Translation Program
November 5, 2002 - On Saturday, November 2, 2002, Union University graduate students participated in an ESL program with Riverside Communications. Riverside is a California based company specializing in translating English to Japanese on audio and video tapes. Steve Soski, Riverside Communications director, contacted Dr. Nancy Easley and Dr. Randy Shadburn about utilizing graduate students to participate in filming typical English conversations. Several graduate education students volunteered to participate in the interviews and taping. The students were excited to help in such an educational endeavor. Mr. Soski, a Germantown native, expressed great appreciation for the cooperative spirit of Union administrators and students. This is one example of Union University's direct involvement in the community and fulfilling our goal of serving others.
