Tennessee Association for Childhood Education International
January 17, 2008 - More than 300 educators from across the state of Tennessee arrived on Union’s campus on Saturday, September 22, for the 2007 Tennessee Association for Childhood Education International Fall Conference. The conference, Space to Play; Room to Grow, included more than 40 sessions tracked for those who support the education of: Infants, Toddlers, Preschool, Kindergarten, Primary School, Family Care, Administration, Higher Education, Preservice Teachers. The keynote address was given by Dr. Rebecca Isbell, East Tennessee State University. In addition, featured speakers included: Dr. Shirley Raines, University of Memphis; Darlene Walden, mom of Gabriel and founder of Gabriel’s Garden; and Darren L. Robert, Ed.D., Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic, CT, Jane M. Robert, MS, Pleasant Valley Public School, Groton, CT and Bill Yongue, Ed.D., Bob Graham Education Center, Miami Lakes, FL.
The mission of the ACEI is to promote and support in the global community the optimal education and development of children, from birth through early adolescence, and to influence the professional growth of educators and the efforts of others who are committed to the needs of children in a changing society.
