The Office of Student Leadership Development seeks to develop student leaders who are well prepared to integrate their faith and knowledge in leadership opportunities on our campus and in the community. By recognizing that all students have the ability to influence others, the Office of Student Leadership Development offers numerous opportunities for students to become involved in campus life through a variety of programs, workshops, and organizations where they can further develop and enhance their leadership potential.
The SLD Office works with students in four main areas of campus life:
Our staff shares the charge of assisting you, the student, in developing and expanding leadership skills at Union that will be useful for many years to come. If you have any question about any of the areas of campus life we advise, please contact us:
In partnership with the Moore and Barney II Foundations, Union established the Barnabas Leadership Award to recognize students who have demonstrated leadership in the area of community and ministry service.
Juniors who have demonstrated significant leadership skills and a willingness to serve the campus and community are nominated by faculty, staff or students. To confirm the eligibility of a junior, please contact Jason Castles at jcastles@uu.edu. Two recipients are named by the Barnabas Award Selection Committee and are awarded $500. The recipients are asked to give at least $100 of their award to a charitable agency of their choice. All award finalists and their families are invited to attend a special awards luncheon to honor the award nominees. Nominate a junior for the 2010 Barnabas Leadership Award - PDF | Online Form
