Marvin Becomes Assistant Dean of Education on Germantown Campus

Dr. Stephen R. Marvin has assumed the role of Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies in Education, serving on Union University’s Germantown, TN campus. Dr. Marvin is filling the position that was recently vacated by Dr. Jennifer Grove, upon her decision to relocate to Mississippi College to be closer to family. Dr. Marvin began his work as a faculty member at Union in the Fall 2007. Most recently, Marvin had been serving as the Director of the Master of Education degree program on Union’s Germantown campus.
Marvin holds a Doctorate in Education with an emphasis in College Administration and College Teaching from the University of Arkansas, along with a Masters of Education degree in Elementary and Secondary Administration and Elementary and Secondary Curriculum from Harding University. Marvin is a native Californian where he received a Bachelor’s degree from Fresno Pacific University.
Prior to joining Union, Marvin served in several positions within public and private school systems, including as a Business Technology teacher and technology coordinator for Cordova High School in Cordova, TN.
Marvin is honored to assume the responsibilities as Assistant Dean of Education on the Germantown Campus, saying, "I look forward to building upon the tradition of excellence and ongoing innovations on the Germantown campus. It is a blessing to work alongside such esteemed colleagues as together we serve the o utstanding students of Union University."
